Throughout the course duration, students will have an advanced understanding of finance, business management, and financial technology, improve their business, accounting, communication, and management skills, have an exposure to the new financial technology solutions including digital currencies, and peer-to-peer lending, and familiarize data mining techniques to prepare for their future researches and career. In addition, students will learn about governance and compliance with financial technology as well as the globalization of banking and finance in international banking. There will also be a 16-week internship or industrial training to prepare the students for a smooth transition to the working environment. Graduates will be equipped with holistic knowledge and experience that can lead to career opportunities as FinTech Specialist, Banking Specialist, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Strategy Analyst, FinTech Quantitative Developer, Business Development Associate, and other related jobs.
The admission requirements for the Bachelor in Banking and Finance (Hons) with a Specialism in Financial Technology at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) are 2 passes in STPM with a minimum of C+ grade (GP 2.33) and a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level or 2 passes in A-level in any 2 subjects or 5 grade B’s in UEC including Mathematics; passed diploma with CGPA of 2.5 and credit in mathematics at SPM/O-level/IGCSE level; and English language proficiency IELTS 6.0 score or TOEFL IBT score of 60.
Malaysian students are required to pay a tuition fee of RM78,000 for the whole duration or equivalent to 3 years while international students are required to pay RM88,200 for the whole duration. APU offers scholarships and merit awards to deserving and talented students to pursue their higher education.
