This program consists of core and elective courses with hard topics in FinTech including distributed ledger technology, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, big data, data mining, algorithmic trading, financial programming, mathematical finance, and computational finance, as well as soft topics in Arts and Social Sciences that will lead its students in the dynamic FinTech Industry. Learners will be equipped with strong knowledge and experience in financial technologies, FinTech programming, DLT, blockchain, corporate finance, analytics, cybersecurity, and data science. Throughout the course duration, students will be prepared in the real-world setup through capstone experience, experiential learning opportunities, and exchange placements locally and abroad. Graduates from this course may enjoy a wide range of career opportunities in the FinTech industry as FinTech professionals and leaders or may pursue a Master’s and Doctor’s degree or may start their own businesses and be entrepreneurs.

The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology (BASc FinTech) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) are an online application (either international, JUPAS, Mainland NJCEE, or Hong Kong sub-degrees), identity document (passport, Hong Kong Identity Card, or other travel documents), a valid credit card for the application fee, high school transcript, GCE A-level or International A-Level, curriculum vitae, certificates and awards, certificates of public examinations and proof of English language proficiency, degree certificates, reference letters, and student visa or entry permit to study in Hong Kong. Admission decisions are based on academic performance, interview performance, personal statement, and other submitted documents.

The full-time course is equivalent to 4 years with 240 credits. Local students are required to pay an annual tuition fee of HK$42,100 while non-local students are required to pay an annual tuition fee of HK$171,000. HKU offers academic scholarships that cover tuition fees and living expenses that will help the brightest students earn an education regardless of financial circumstances.
