Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is one of the well-established research universities in the United Kingdom. Similarly, students will learn data analytics, big data computing, data mining, efficient algorithms for complex sets, latest technologies, and programming language. Throughout the program duration, students will undertake an extended project using real-world data science problems and learn the world of work as data scientists through core modules, lectures, tutorials, hands-on computer laboratory sessions, and research project modules. The program also offers an additional 60 credits from the usual 180 credits to include a group design project which aims to apply data science to the solution of a real-world problem. This will equip students with project management skills needed to excel in the chosen career, provide opportunities to further use the tools and systems that data scientists and data engineers use, and develop more skills in preparation for starting the chosen career.
The entry requirements for the Master of Science in Data Science (MSc Data Science) at the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) are a minimum of 2:2 in a numerate, scientific, or computer-based subject; an A level or equivalent in Mathematics at Grade C or more; English language proficiency IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 score in each component; accomplished online application form; visa, and other international entry requirements (international applicants).
UK Students with 180 credits are required to pay a tuition fee that costs £8,500, while UK Students with 240 credits are required to pay £13,866. For International Students with 180 credits, the tuition fee is £16,600, and for International Students with 240 credits, the tuition fee is £21,966. The university offers Joint Funded Scholarships, LJMU Funded Scholarships, and Externally Funded Scholarships to eligible students.
