It offers Master Programme in Mathematics and Modelling with a Specialization in Algebra with Cryptography and Coding that equips students with comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in mathematical models and methods, calculations, algebra, cryptography, number theory, and coding theory. Similarly, the program will deliver in-depth knowledge in applied mathematics, information security, statistical data analysis, dynamical systems, probability, mathematical cryptography, and abstract algebra.
Throughout the course duration, students will demonstrate deeper methodological knowledge in mathematics and modelling, systematically explore mathematical models, analyze and assess complex problems and situations, and identify and solve issues using appropriate methods. In the same way, students will develop mathematical models in an area of application, will have workshops, projects, and field trips to companies with information security and information technology, will collaborate with foreign universities offering a relevant program, and will have research projects, and master’s thesis. The admission requirements for the Master Programme in Mathematics and Modelling with a Specialization in Algebra with Cryptography and Coding at Linnaeus University are an online application and application fee, diplomas and certificates from previous education at the university level, transcript of records of all studied courses, upper secondary school certificates such as high school, abitur, baccalaureate, GCE-O/A level, proof of English language proficiency, statement of purpose, curriculum vitae, copy of passport, and a document of identification.
The full-time program is equivalent to 2 years with 120 ECTS. Citizens from EU, EEA countries, and Switzerland are not required to pay tuition and application fees, while non-EU Citizens, EEA countries, and Switzerland are required to pay a total tuition fee of 310,000 SEK or may also pay in parts, in which the first payment is equal to 77,500 SEK. The university offers scholarships to outstanding non-EU/EEA and Switzerland students.
