It offers Online Bachelor of Science in Internet of Things (B.S. IoT) under the College of Engineering and Computing that will transform students into technological experts who can program, manage, secure, and maintain Internet of Things (IoT) devices in many areas such as aviation, transportation, infrastructure, health, hospitality, and energy.

Students are expected to be experts in wireless communications, cybersecurity and privacy, hardware, software, and new technologies. Throughout the course duration, learners will have a strong experience to install, design, customize, enhance, and maintain IoT devices and networks, understand how hackers think, provide solutions to cyber-attacks, and effectively communicate IoT ideas in a professional environment. In the same way, learners will apply their advanced knowledge in artificial intelligence, analytics, cloud services, data visualization, big data, applied machine learning, and data system software as well as perform strong skills in IoT programming, cybersecurity, hardware design, and handle security issues associated with IoT devices. Graduates from this program will apply their knowledge as wireless communication specialists, possess the mastery needed for IoT engineers and developers to work on microcontrollers and sensors, be able to troubleshoot IoT devices as software engineers, and be well-versed in cybersecurity.

The admission requirements for the Online Bachelor of Science in Internet of Things (B.S. IoT) at the Florida International University (FIU) are duly accomplished online application, official SAT or ACT scores, official high school transcripts (for first-year students), official college and high school transcripts (for transfer students), official English language proficiency exam scores either TOEFL or IELTS, and $30 application fee.

The online program has a full-time duration with 120 credits. In-state students are required to pay $228.81 per credit hour and $345.87 per credit hour for out-of-state students and are also required to pay other fees on top of the cost per credit hour. FIU online provides financial aid and scholarships to eligible students to lower the cost of the degree.
