It offers Finance and Technology (FinTech) BSc (Hons) that will equip the students with innovative knowledge in finance and computer science, develop advanced analytical and quantitative skills, and proficiencies in programming and coding. Learners will have a solid ground in the principles of finance, FinTech, programming and mathematical concepts, data structures and algorithms, financial management, financial institutions, and financial markets.

Throughout the course duration, students will have cutting-edge knowledge in databases, econometrics and statistics, financial transformation, machine learning, corporate governance and ethics, blockchains and crypto assets, cryptography, digital banking, and alternative investment funds. Students will be familiarized with financial risk management, computer security, natural language engineering, trading strategies, and international financial management.

Learners from this program will have a real-world experience in web applications and services, as well as make the most of the access to the Bloomberg Financial Market Lab in the Business School, and to the Thomson Reuters service platforms in partaking in the actual financial and trading simulation administered by academic and industry specialists. Graduates will be prepared for the growing financial technology, IT, and financial services industry, and obtain careers in various industries including finance and software engineering industries, positions such as FinTech Analyst, Business Data Analyst, Blockchain Developer, Software Developer, Technology Risk Manager, and FinTech-Banking Account Manager.

The entry requirements for the Finance and Technology (FinTech) BSc (Hons) at the University of Sussex are a GCSE Mathematics with at least grade 6 or grade B, high school diploma, international baccalaureate diploma, European baccalaureate at least 75%-77%, good level of mathematics, English language proficiency EILTS overall score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component, and an online application.

The program has a full-time duration equivalent to 3 years. EU and UK students are required to pay a tuition fee that costs £9,250 per annum while international students are required to pay £22,500 per annum. Tuition fees and other additional fees are subject to change every year. The university offers scholarships and bursaries to ensure that every student who is willing to study in Sussex is able regardless of financial barriers.
